Welcome to Dayout! Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application ("Dayout," "we," "us," or "our"). By using Dayout, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Information We Collect
a) Personal Information & Profile Data
We collect information you provide directly to us when creating or updating your account. This includes your email address, username, and profile data. If you choose to upload a profile picture, our app will request permission to access your device’s camera or photo library. We only access these services with your explicit permission.
b) Identity Verification (Creators)
For users eligible for payouts, we use Stripe Connect or PayPal to collect sensitive information, including date of birth and government-issued identification (e.g., SSN or Tax ID). This data is processed directly by our partners; Dayout does not store your full government ID on our servers.
c) Purchase & Payment History
We do not collect or store your credit card details. All in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. While financial institutions handle the raw payment data, we collect and retain anonymized transaction IDs and purchase history to verify and maintain your access to premium features.
d) Device, Log Data & Local Storage
We automatically collect certain information when you use the app, including device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, and app activity. To keep you logged in between sessions, we securely store authentication session tokens locally on your device.
e) Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and mobile SDKs to analyze app traffic. You can manage preferences via your device's "Limit Ad Tracking" settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to provide and personalize our services, facilitate secure payouts, enhance security (including fraud detection and bans), and comply with legal obligations.
Legal Basis (EEA/UK): (1) Contractual Necessity; (2) Legitimate Interests; (3) Compliance with Law (KYC/Tax); and (4) Consent.
3. Sharing & Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Financial Partners: Apple, Google, Stripe, and PayPal as necessary to process transactions, verify identity, and facilitate payouts.
Service Providers: Third-party partners (like Firebase or Mixpanel for analytics) that help operate our services.
Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect Dayout’s rights and users.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Data Retention & Account Deletion
a) In-App Account Deletion
You have the right to delete your account at any time. You can initiate permanent account deletion directly within the app's settings menu.
b) Data Erasure & Retention Policy
Upon triggering account deletion, your profile, personal data, and active records are permanently purged from our active databases and cannot be recovered.
Retention Exceptions: We retain specific, anonymized transaction records, security/auth logs, and bad-actor identifiers (e.g., banned user hashes) for up to 12 months solely for financial auditing, preventing platform abuse, and complying with legal hold requirements.
c) Security
We use industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption to protect your data during transmission. While we use rigorous safeguards, no system is 100% secure.
5. Children’s Privacy
Dayout does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). Parents can request removal at support@dayout.app.
6. Your Rights & Choices
You can manage, correct, or update your profile details and privacy preferences directly within the app.
Account Deletion: Can be performed instantly via the app settings.
Data Requests: For formal data access requests or other privacy inquiries, contact us at support@dayout.app.
U.S. State Privacy Rights: We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt-out of data "sharing" for targeted advertising/analytics.
7. International Data Transfers
If you access Dayout from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States under legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
8. Third-Party Links & Services
Dayout may contain links to external sites (venues, ticketing). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
